Denbies Wine Estate achieves Highest acclaim ever in International Wine and Spirit Competition
News that Denbies Wine Estate, England's largest privately owned vineyard, located in Dorking, Surrey was awarded a Gold 'Best in Class'for its Greenfields Cuvee 2003 at the International Wine and Spirit Competition last week, has generated a huge amount of media activity.
Greenfields is produced in the traditional 'champagne' method, a classic blend of the pinot noir, pinot meurnier and chardonnay grapes. Denbies also won bronze awards for its 2003 Yew Tree Pinot and 2004 Ortega.
'This now confirms that Denbies wine is of a world class standard, not only competing on the world stage but winning International acclaim as well.' commented Chris White, Denbies General Manager.
The International Wine & Spirit Competition was founded in 1969 and is the premier International Competition of its kind. Its aim is to promote the quality and excellence of the world's best wines, spirits and liqueurs. This is achieved through a rigorous two stage judging process of professional blind tasting and detailed analysis.
Denbies Wine Estate, established in 1986, is celebrating its 20th anniversary that so far has been celebrated with the winning of an unprecedented amount of awards.
