Picking continues until tomorrow (Thursday) and then the 2010 harvest will come to an end. This has been an incredibly exciting year, the yields have been higher than originally predicted and with the combination of exceptionally high sugar and low acid levels, we can confirm that this will be an outstanding vintage.

So, as the vineyard team are busy harvesting what could potentially be one of the finest vintages of the decade so far! Reports of English wine are as far reaching as the USA, as written by Becky Sue Epstein.

We are now in the second week of harvest, after a wet interruption on Monday and Tuesday the remainer of the week has remained fair with exceptionally sunny weather yesterday. Picking of the schonburger is scheduled to commence later on today. The weather is set to brighten towards the latter part of the week which will be most welcome (almost forgotten what this wet stuff was like!).

It is looking very likely from the initial feedback from the first few days of harvest that 2009 is very likely to be a vintage year, possibly comparable to that of 2003. This is really exciting news, this year has been very temperate in climate with no extremes.

After a period of long sunny warm weather, harvest will be starting today with the earlier ripening grape varieties.
